Software Update 2011-1 from Ag Management Solutions

New Products:

Application Controller
Application Controller allows iSteer™ and iGrade™ to operate on the same controller. The software and hardware are now purchased separately. Existing iSteer and iGrade customers can run both applications on existing controllers by updating to SU11-1 and purchasing the respective activation. After updating, the icons on the display will change from images of a scraper and axle to an image of Application Controller.

Enhancements for iSteer™

In addition to straight tracking mode, iSteer now offers curve track mode, circle track mode, and follow track mode.
iSteer offers the ability to enter lateral offsets for the implement receiver.

Enhancements for the StarFire™ 3000 Position Receiver:

GLONASS satellites are now compatible with the StarFire Network which includes SF1 and SF2 signals for the StarFire 3000 receiver.
The StarFire 3000 receiver is now compatible with the StarFire iTC allowing customers to use a StarFire iTC and StarFire 3000 together for two-receiver implement guidance applications.

Enhancements for the GreenStar™ Rate Controller:

When applying NH3, operators have the option to show pounds (lbs) of Nitrogen (N) or pounds (lbs) of NH3 remaining in addition to percentage remaining for the tank level.
The GreenStar Rate Controller is now compatible with Hiniker™ 2-wire Servo valves.
Operators have the ability to disable one GRC in multi-product applications through the display. Previously, the only way to disable a GRC was to physically unplug it from the system.
A master switch indicator has been incorporated on more GRC homepages.
A second pressure sensor can now be monitored.
The tie between outside sections and fence row nozzles has been removed. Now fence for nozzles can be turned on/off independently of the outside section status.
Predefined rate buttons have been added to one of the soft-key homepage and quarter screen homepage options.
Machine width can now be entered with a hundredth value.

Enhancements for Apex Farm Management Software:

Save to card templates:
This functionality allows users to save a group of setup items under a specified name and be able to recall that template the next time the user needs to save to card.
Compressed yield data export:
Apex 3.1 has changed the way yield data is exported from the program. Yield data will now have one data point for the width of the header, which reduces the exported fields to be 80% smaller than previous year's exports.

Products range from the basic; “subscription free” 30cm GPS accuracy of StarFire 1® guidance systems, to premium Autosteer systems with 2.5cm accuracy of RTK signal provided by a network of Dealer Owned Radio Towers. With dedicated AMS sales and service staff based locally and 24hr phone and internet support provided by John Deere we can keep you working no matter where, no matter when.

John Deere’s AMS products are at the forefront of automated farming systems. The advantage of John Deere’s AMS systems is the unique ability to upgrade the components without discarding any hardware. Development is continuously taking place to improve software and functionality in response to feedback from customers and changing needs of the Ag Industry. You can be assured that John Deere AMS products will continue to deliver adaptability, convenience and practicality in all areas of agriculture for years to come.

Not limited to John Deere machinery, John Deere AMS systems can be fitted to Brand X machinery using Universal Harness and Steering Systems. An entry level Autosteer system requires a Display (LINK), GPS Receiver (LINK), Integrated Factory Installed Steering Controller or Universal Steering Kit (LINK), and Operating Software (LINK). AMS systems can also be used to control Spray Systems, Air-seeding equipment and record yield from Harvesters, all using one display and eliminating the need for multiple controllers in the cab of the vehicle.

DISPLAYS

GS2 1800 Display – Entry level display with 18cm colour screen combined with controls for navigation and operation. Has the ability to control Autosteer and Auto-shutoff systems when combined with GPS receiver.

GS2 2600 Display – Most functional display with 26cm colour touchscreen allows function of all AMS capabilities including Autosteer, Auto-shutoff, Variable Rate Application and Implement Control. Also has the ability to record and store data for transfer to desktop program, for example; yield mapping, fertiliser and chemical use and seeding varieties and rates.

RECEIVERS

StarFire® iTC Receiver – GPS receiver with integrated Terrain Control Module can track up to 12 GPS satellites providing subscription free 30cm pass-to-pass¹ accuracy (SF1®). Can be upgraded to 10cm pass-to-pass¹ accuracy with software and signal subscription (SF2®), and then upgraded to 2.5cm repeatable accuracy with software, radio receiver and signal subscription (RTK).

StarFire 3000 Receiver – GPS receiver with improved integrated Terrain Control Module can track up to 66 satellites including both GPS and GLONASS. Up-to-date hardware accounts for cab vibration, reduces impact of shading due to trees and buildings and quicker satellite acquisition. Comes with subscription free 30cm pass-to-pass¹ accuracy (SF1®). Can be upgraded to 10cm pass-to-pass¹ accuracy with software and signal subscription (SF2®), and then upgraded to 2.5cm repeatable accuracy with software, radio receiver and signal subscription (RTK).

AUTOTRAC®

ATU200 Universal Steering Kit – Kit provides steering wheel control for non-integrated steering machines and non-John Deere vehicles (note: supplement kits maybe required). Will enable Autosteer when combined with display, GPS receiver and Autosteer software.

Integrated Steering Controller – Factory fitted or supplied in kit form removes need for ATU200 and uses vehicle steering hydraulics for Autosteer control. Software required for Autosteer function (note: some non-John Deere factory installed steering controllers are compatible with software)

AutoTrac SF1 Software – provides 30cm pass-to-pass¹ accuracy.

AutoTrac SF2 Software – provides 10cm pass-to-pass¹ accuracy and enables use of RTK correctional signal for 2.5cm accuracy.

RATE CONTROLLER

GS2 Rate Controller – Controller can be fitted to most implements requiring rate control including self-propelled and pull-behind sprayers from all brands. Operation of controller is maintained through the GS2 display and removes need for second controller in the cab of the vehicle. Rates, chemicals and coverage can be recorded for future use when combined with GS2 2600 display.

SwathPro Software – This software allows GS2 display to use GPS signal to control Rate Controller providing Auto-Shutoff of sections when travelling over an area where product has already be applied. This ensures that chemical and fertiliser use is at its most efficient and provides immediate benefit to input costs.

DESKTOP SOFTWARE

Apex - This program allows for maintenance of farm data and development of prescription maps for application of seed, fertiliser and chemical. Yield maps can be stored and manipulated to show trends from season to season providing data for future agronomic decisicions.
